Job Description

Pattern Making and Cutting



Take

accurate body measurements

of clients using standard measuring tools. Create

patterns

for various garment types (men's, women's, and children's wear) based on design specifications or client requirements.

Mark, cut, and prepare fabric

according to patterns ensuring minimal wastage. Supervise or personally handle

cutting of bulk fabrics

for production runs (uniforms, abayas, kanduras, suits, etc.).

Tailoring and Garment Construction



Stitch garments using appropriate

machine and hand-sewing techniques

to achieve a professional finish. Ensure

perfect fitting and alignment

of seams, collars, sleeves, and hems. Handle

alterations, repairs, and restyling

of garments as required. Maintain

high standards of quality control

throughout the tailoring process.

Design and Fabric Selection



Advise clients on

fabric choices, colors, styles, and current fashion trends

. Interpret

design sketches or sample garments

into finished products. Suggest

design modifications

to suit body shape, fabric type, or client preferences.

Supervision and Training



Supervise junior tailors and cutters

, ensuring work is completed on time and up to company standards. Train new staff in

cutting, stitching, and finishing techniques

. Monitor workflow and

allocate tasks

to optimize efficiency.

Client Relations and Fittings



Conduct

fitting sessions

, note alterations, and ensure final garments meet client satisfaction. Maintain good

customer service and communication

, including follow-up after delivery. Handle

VIP or bespoke clients

requiring personalized services.

Production and Inventory Management



Manage

fabric stock, trims, and tailoring supplies

; report shortages promptly. Plan cutting layouts to

reduce fabric wastage

and control costs. Maintain

records of orders, measurements, and delivery schedules

.

Maintenance and Safety



Ensure

machines, tools, and equipment

are properly maintained and serviced. Follow

health, safety, and hygiene standards

in the workshop.
