Mason
Job Summary:
A construction craft professional skilled in building and repairing structures with bricks, concrete blocks, and natural stone. Their work is fundamental to constructing walls, partitions, foundations, and other architectural features.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and stone to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
- Measure and cut materials to the required size and shape.
- Mix mortar and grout and apply it to bind blocks and bricks together.
- Use levels, plumb bobs, and rules to ensure structures are perfectly aligned, level, and plumb.
- Repair and restore existing masonry work.
- Read and interpret architectural blueprints and drawings.
- Proven experience as a Mason.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools specific to masonry (trowels, levels, saws).
- Physical strength, stamina, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of different bonding patterns and techniques.
