The Mason Helper assists masons in performing construction-related tasks, including site preparation, material handling, and maintaining cleanliness at the work site. They ensure timely support to masons to enhance the efficiency and quality of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling:
Transport and supply materials such as bricks, tiles, cement, and tools to the work area.
Mix and prepare mortar, concrete, or other materials as directed by the mason.
Site Preparation and Maintenance:
Clean and prepare construction sites, removing debris and ensuring safe work conditions.
Set up scaffolding, ladders, and other temporary structures required for masonry work.
Assisting Mason Work:
Hold, cut, or shape materials as per the mason's instructions.
Assist in laying bricks, tiles, or stones and finishing concrete work.
Tool Maintenance:
Clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment properly after use.
Notify the supervisor of damaged or worn-out tools and equipment.
Safety and Compliance:
Follow all workplace safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure adherence to company policies and safety regulations at all times.
General Support:
Provide assistance in loading/unloading construction materials.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or site manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
Education:
No formal education required, but basic literacy is an advantage.
Experience:
Previous experience in construction or masonry assistance is preferred.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding environments.
Teamwork:
Strong ability to work collaboratively with masons and other team members.
Attention to Detail:
Capability to follow instructions accurately and support quality work.
Working Conditions:
May work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
May involve overtime and work on weekends based on project needs.
