What you\'ll do

The Director of Marketing for Careem Food will lead all marketing efforts to take Careem Food to the next level! You will develop and own the broader marketing strategy, converting to campaigns and initiatives on the ground with local teams. The role requires a deep understanding of the activities that will increase awareness, conversion and retention, balancing all marketing disciplines (brand, growth, etc.). You must be analytical and financially astute to make sure we\'re maximizing impact and ROI, treating each dollar like it\'s your own. Local market knowledge is ideal, but at a minimum you must be comfortable working across diverse markets with distinct cultures and dynamics. While strategic in nature, you must be willing to get into the details and get your hands dirty to ensure top notch execution. More important than anything is to manage and inspire a team to reach new heights!

Key responsibilities include:
  • Strategy Development: You will develop and own the marketing strategy for each country, working closely with GMs and central teams.
  • Team Leadership: Manage/build an all star marketing team across our markets.You will motivate, coach and develop each team member to get the very best out of them while creating a positive, collaborative and creative work environment. Setting clear goals and tracking performance will be key
  • Brand Management: Working closely alongside the central brand team you will oversee the brand identity and positioning of Careem Food in a way that\'s locally relevant to each market and our value proposition in each.
  • Campaign Planning and Execution: End to end management of campaigns (plan, execute, and measure the effectiveness), working closely with the marketing lead in each country\'s market.
  • Market Research and Analysis: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market and competitor behavior. Identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and use the insights to shape marketing strategies.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation across various channels to maximize ROI. Comfortable building bottom up financial models.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze performance across acquisition, conversion, retention etc. Use insights to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives/campaigns and making data-driven decisions on the fly.
  • Performance/Growth Marketing: Oversee growth marketing efforts - segmentation, CRM, customer journeys, digital marketing, promos, etc. This will require close collaboration with commercial and product teams.
  • Marketing Collateral: Approve and oversee the creation of high quality marketing materials, ensuring they are aligned with brand guidelines, communicate the right message and drive conversion. Attention to detail is key!
  • Partnership and Sponsorship: Identify and manage strategic partnerships to drive awareness and shape public perception.
What you\'ll need
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (Master\'s degree a bonus).
  • Proven experience in marketing, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing strategies with strong ROI
  • Previous experience in managing and developing a diverse team
  • Proficient across all marketing disciplines (brand, growth, digital, CRM, etc)
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and key drivers in a marketplace business model. Experience in a tech company is ideal.
  • Experience in a global position across diverse markets.
