JOB SUMMARY
Directs and motivates team while personally assisting in the physical set up of the function rooms (e.g., tables, chairs, dance floors, podiums, etc.) and executing events based on requirements and standards. Develops and directs team to provide consistent, high quality service. Communicates expected performance and trains staff in processes. Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities including asset protection.
CANDIDATE PROFILE To maintain the image and reputation of the marina as the benchmark and leading marina in the region, through continual monitoring of the competition and the connections already made with powerboat manufacturers. To continue the service provided and offered to the regions boating industry and to enlarge the service where required if deemed necessary. To uphold the company\xe2\x80\x99s mission statement and statement of values, as identified.
1. Main Duties: Responsible for the operations of the on water aspects of the marina to include berthing, berthing bookings, berth allocation, vessel movements, and the safe operation of the marina to include health and safety and fire prevention.
  • To achieve max revenue by utilizing all available space and pre booking or double selling where possible.
  • To ensure all members follow the marinas rules and regulations and making sure all relevant information is held for each members / boat.
  • To handle membership disputes and to be available to the members

Budgets.
  • To study market trends, and to liaise with the financial controller on the years performances through quarterly P+L meetings. To discus the following years budgets and to identify where there is growth potential.
  • To drive the team to achieve the months targets, to identify the following month\xe2\x80\x99s workloads and through discussion with the services manager, achieve targets year round.
  • To identify the following year\xe2\x80\x99s capital expenditure and to produce these on request and highlight those profit generating items of simple item replacements.

Staff.
  • To manage a team of multi national individuals and to highlight those who show strength and willing, to enable those to be put forward for internal promotions or increases..
  • To study budgets and to put forward new head counts for the following year and identify salary increases where necessary.
  • To locate new staff through either local or international press. To interview and identify those who would best benefit the department.
  • To work closely with the in house HR team in any aspect of staff finding, visa\xe2\x80\x99s, salaries, terminations, head counts etc.

Boat shows.
  • To visit various international boats shows and marina conferences to source new products and to keep relations with various dealers and manufacturers.
  • To close parts deals and to identify shipping requirements with the aim of reducing costs.
  • To manage all aspects of the budget in this area.

ISO.
  • To drive the team forward utilizing the recently acquired ISO 9000 / 2001 Certification.
  • To monitor various aspects of the operation as dictated by the system and to file these findings and to forward to the ISO officer in charge for records of conformity.
  • To operate in such a way as to highlight new areas for improvements and to be pro active on introducing new ISO related areas of operation. This is to be produced at the following internal audit for filing and this will then be produced at the following external audit.

Other areas.
  • To work closely with the other department heads to ensure that the marina fits in and runs smoothly along side the other departments and profit centers.
  • To work closely with the hotel to ensure quality marina lifestyle and environments are achieved and kept.
  • To ensure that the boat captains adhere to marina rules and regulations and to pull monthly meetings to identify and control problem areas. Those who continue shall be brought before the vessel owner and the marina manager for a discussion and continued wrong doing shall be followed by non entry to the marina site.

2. Ancillary Duties:
In line with the Club\xe2\x80\x99s strive for continuous improvement, you may be requested to participate in various extra activities contributing towards individuals and organizational growth.
Represent the department or a group in various committees, such as the Staff Committee, Green Theme (environmental), Food Committee, Sport Committee or projects. Be trained as a Fire Marshall or First Aider.
4. IT Security Awareness:
1. Read, Understand and comply with all applicable Information Security Policies and Procedures of wasl. 2. Co-operate, co-ordinate and share information with Internal/External Audit teams as appropriate and applicable. 3. Attend Information Security Awareness sessions conducted by the IT Department. 4. All Information Security breaches, events, weaknesses, incidents (actual or suspected breaches) shall be immediately reported to the IT Service Desk.
5. Levels of Authority:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
SUPPORTIVE SKILLS

A boat captains license or to be able to handle vessels up to 25ft within a confined marina environment. Degree qualification
Self-motivated and good communicator

Technical & Mechanical knowledge
Local industry knowledge

2 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar position at a reputed establishment.
To be able to work under pressure

Fluent in both written and spoken English
To be able to lead the team efficiently and effectively.
