The Manlift Operator is responsible for safely operating a manlift or aerial work platform (AWP) to lift personnel and materials to elevated work areas. The operator ensures that all lifting operations are conducted efficiently, safely, and in compliance with site and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate manlift or aerial work platforms (boom lift, scissor lift, etc.) as per manufacturer's guidelines and safety standards.
Inspect the manlift before and after each use to ensure proper working condition and report any defects or maintenance needs.
Position and stabilize the lift prior to operation.
Assist workers in reaching high or inaccessible areas safely.
Ensure the safety of personnel and property during lift operations.
Follow site safety rules, signals, and procedures at all times.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment around the lift area.
Keep accurate logs of daily operation, inspections, and maintenance.
Communicate effectively with site supervisors and ground personnel.
Report any unsafe conditions, incidents, or near misses immediately.
Requirements:
Valid
Manlift Operator License / Certification
from an approved training center.
Minimum
2 years of experience
operating manlifts or aerial platforms.
Knowledge of
safe lifting practices
and
occupational safety procedures.
Physically fit and able to work at heights.
Ability to read and understand instructions, signs, and load charts.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in
construction, maintenance, or industrial projects.
Familiarity with
different types of manlifts (boom lift, scissor lift, telescopic, articulating, etc.).
Basic mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting.
Work Conditions:
Work performed outdoors and at heights.
May require overtime, night shifts, or weekend work depending on project needs.
Must wear appropriate PPE at all times
