Our client is a leading regional bank looking for an experienced retail banking executive to lead its Retail Banking business across different geographies. This role has end-to-end responsibility for retail strategy, performance, and customer outcomes, and partners closely with Group Executive leadership to drive sustainable growth, innovation, and market leadership.

This is a high-impact leadership role with an opportunity to shape the future of Retail Banking across the Group. The right candidate will balance strategic vision with strong execution, driving commercial performance while elevating customer experience, digital capability, and risk discipline.
Key Responsibilities:

• Define and execute the Group-wide Retail Banking strategy aligned with overall business and growth objectives
• Lead all aspects of Retail Banking performance, including P&L, balance sheet growth, product profitability, and cost efficiency
• Drive customer-centric transformation across branches, digital channels, and product propositions
• Oversee development and optimisation of retail products spanning deposits, lending, payments, and wealth-related offerings
• Partner with Group functions (Risk, Finance, Technology, Compliance, HR) to ensure robust governance and execution
• Develop strong leadership teams and future leaders across Retail Banking
• Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory developments to inform strategy
• Represent Retail Banking at executive, Board, and external stakeholder forums

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA or equivalent preferred).
• 20+ years of progressive leadership experience in Retail Banking within large, complex financial institutions.
• Proven track record of leading multi-market retail banking operations with full P&L accountability.
• Deep understanding of retail banking products, customer economics, and distribution.
• Strong experience driving large-scale transformation, including digital and customer experience initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to lead senior leadership teams and influence at Executive Committee and Board level.
• Strong commercial acumen, risk awareness, and regulatory understanding.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
