Synopsis

The Manager Technical Competence (MTC) reports to the Senior Manager Technical Safety & Compliance (SMTSC). MTC will support the Nominated Postholders (NPHs) in Etihad Technical department in ensuring that Etihad is meeting all applicable regulatory (CAR/Part 145, CAR M, etc.), company, and other providers\'/customers\' competence requirements (in terms of qualification, training, experience and competence assessment). The role is required to communicate across the various leadership structures in addition to senior management representatives from external agencies.

Accountabilities
  • The MTC shall ensure that appropriate competence standards (in terms of qualification, training, experience and competence assessment) across the Technical Division are established and related policies and procedures are developed/implemented/updated, as required.
  • In charge of implementing \xe2\x80\x9ctraining data management system\xe2\x80\x9d for the Technical Division as required by CAR M and CAR 145.
  • Manage the compliance with existing/new/upcoming regulations, which have an impact on training and competency of the staff, from the Competent Authority and other external agencies as required.
  • Manages the training records data migration from contracted technical training providers (including EYEng Technical Training) into \xe2\x80\x9cthe training data management system\xe2\x80\x9d for the whole EY Technical personnel.
  • Conducts an annual training needs analysis to capture the training demand for the following year and coordinates all the emerging training demands from the business areas.
  • Preparation of the annual training budget for Technical Division in collaboration with line managers.
  • Manage all the training nominations for EY Technical personnel based on the job role as per applicable TPM in coordination with the line managers.
  • Ensure that all mandatory training records are kept current and reflected on the related system in order to support CAMO and 145 Nominated Postholders.
  • Providing support on licensing, nominations and authorizations of EY Technical personnel.
  • Manage the Graduate Training Programme technical training requirements.
  • Manage the development and implementation of New Joiner Induction Program in coordination with the line managers.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Aviation or Maintenance Engineer License with Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance & Engineering or equivalent;
  • 10+ years working experience in the aviation industry, with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in CAMO or AMO;
  • Experience within an Approved Maintenance Training Organisation (AMTO) is a plus;
  • Designing and implementing competency frameworks and assessment tools experience. Competency assessment within technical organisation experience.
  • Training management and administration experience is required
  • An understanding of relevant civil aviation regulations (with emphasis to CAR M/CAR 145/CAR 66/CAR 147).
  • Skills Required
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels both inside and outside of the organisation;
  • Demonstrably strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a variety of individuals and organizational representatives, including those from differing cultural backgrounds;
  • Computer literacy skills.
