Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Finance / Head of Group Finance, Manager / Senior Manager, Taxation & Insurance is responsible for compliance with all direct tax, indirect tax, international tax, transfer pricing and other tax laws applicable to the Group, and is responsible for managing and optimizing the Group\xe2\x80\x99s insurance policies.

Responsibilities

Regulatory Tax compliance:

• Manage all applicable compliances including ESR, CbCR, VAT, upcoming Corporate Tax, BEPS Pillar Two, etc. including computation of tax, payment of tax and filing of returns.
• Research, develop and implement tax-saving strategies with special focus on movement of funds across the group in a tax efficient manner.
• Liaise with the tax authorities for litigations and other tax compliance/representation. Managing tax audits, reviews and disputes in UAE and across other jurisdictions and preparing adequate documentation in response.
• Support in assessing tax and transfer pricing impact on new transactions and provide timely advise as required.
• Participate in due diligence and structuring related to new openings, mergers and acquisition and divestures.
• Monitor updates on tax laws, research the implications of such new tax laws and advise on tax related issues to ensure compliance.
• Guide financial planning department to assess the tax consequences of annual operations, new contracts and specific transactions and support reflecting tax calculations in the business plans and financial models.
• Support on special projects and adhoc requests such as internal audit of tax function, ICOFR compliance for the tax function, etc.

Systems development and maintenance:

• Ensuring processes and systems are reflective of and responsive to the needs of Group and capable of complying with tax regulatory requirements.
• Initiating strategies in close coordination with the IT department/section for the upgrades to accounting systems and reviewing existing system for improvements to ensure compliance with the dynamic tax landscape of the group.

Insurance management:

• Review and analyze existing insurance policies to ensure they align with the company\'s risk management objectives.
• Collaborate with insurance brokers and carriers to obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favorable terms.
• Work towards optimizing insurance costs while ensuring adequate coverage for the organization.
• Collaborate with the insurance brokers to execute a portfolio approach to the Group\xe2\x80\x99s insurance policies to enhance the ability to manage risk effectively, reduce insurance costs, and ensure coverage alignment with the dynamic nature of the business environment.

Communication:

• Communicates effectively with various team members and maintain good inter-functional liaison to ensure complete, accurate tax reporting, compliance and insurance coverage.

Qualifications

Experience & Qualifications Required:

Essential:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in commerce/Economics/Finance
• Chartered Accountant (or other relevant professional chartered qualification (e.g., CA, ACA, CPA)) with 8-10 years of experience in tax complianc
• \xe2\x80\x9cHands-on\xe2\x80\x9d experience in UAE taxes and other compliances like ESR, CbCR, Pillair Two including preparation, review and submission of returns and filings, dealing with the UAE Federal Tax Authority, etc
• 7+ years of experience in Big 4 Tax team/ experience in handling corporate tax, TP and international tax.
• Prior experience working in a multinational tax environment.
• 7+ years of experience in Big 4 Tax team/ experience in handling corporate tax, TP and international tax
• Prior experience working in a multinational tax environment.

Preferred:

• Prior experience / knowledge in Oracle and Hyperion tools.
• Proven experience in insurance management within a corporate setting.
