Technology & Innovation Manager, Software Engineering AIQ is a new joint venture company between ADNOC and Group 42, which focuses on developing artificial intelligence technologies in the United Arab Emirates. AIQ develops and commercializes AI products and applications for the oil and gas industry. It aims in providing end-to-end solutions by using its data, cloud and talents to develop AI solutions that seek to reduce costs and generate revenue for its clients. Purpose To lead and direct the software engineering function in AIQ, by creating a software development strategy in line with company objectives, managing the design and development of software applications, and overseeing data platform activities within AIQ. Key Accountabilities Oversee the development of full-stack software development that fulfills AIQ customer requirements with high availability, scalability and low latency Collaborate with product managers to determine necessary software development projects around front-end, user interface, product deployment and product optimization Oversee the development, deployment and integrating of software solutions and ensure timely completion of software development activities Provide input on the technical feasibility of proposed product requirements and proactively raise concerns around budgets, timelines and scope Allocate software engineering resources to provide on-going support to AI solutions teams, data science teams and product manager teams to efficiently run AIQ solutions Responsible for the overall enterprise wide effectiveness, efficiency and optimization of data center technology platforms in AIQ in ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction Contribute to AIQ software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Supervise, guide and assist direct reports to perform their functional operations in accordance with policies and procedures Set performance objectives, provide necessary support, evaluate and appraise software engineering managers and provide regular feedback on performance Key Interfaces Software Leads, Dev-Ops and Architects, daily for the achievement of daily/weekly objectives Product Managers, regularly for the review of requirements, progress and alignment on on-going software development projects Technical Project Managers, occasionally for the deployment of client solutions Data Science (AI Solution) Manager, occasionally to provide technical support and allocation of software engineers Commercial Team, occasionally to collaborate on software requirements and solutions Vendors and 3rd Party Services, regularly to manage vendor processes and services Qualification and Years of Experience Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Development or related field 5 to 7 years of experience from a successful start-up organization or 10 years from a well-established firm Experience in the Oil and Gas or Energy Industry (preferred) Essential Knowledge and Skills Business acumen, proficient leadership and communication skills Ability to proactively prioritize workloads, working both independently and as leader of a team Advanced knowledge of data architecture and platforms Advanced knowledge in modern programming languages, and software development practices Group Company: ADNOC HQ
