To plan, organize, conduct, and manage all assigned audits and special assignments of various processes and functions across HCT to support HCT in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of compliance controls to reduce the risks of non-compliance and fraud.

Strategic Role

Thinks beyond short-term objectives to consider the broader vision and strategic goals of HCT
Support the Senior Manager IA and Director IA in the development of IA strategy, cascading functional strategy and achievement of department objectives.
Support with the development and implementation of Internal Audit department operations-related policies, procedures, and processes and monitor compliance of IA Staff.
Propose new projects, initiatives or improvement plans to achieve HCT strategic objectives.
Contribute to the development, management and tracking of the annual budget of the Internal Audit department.
Contribute and assist the Senior Manager in the risk assessment and in the development and execution of the internal audit plan.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders and external auditors.

Operational Role

Manage the planning and execution of operational audits to evaluate the operational efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of HCT\xe2\x80\x99s business processes/operations.
Manage the work of IA staff and the Consultant teams and review the preparation of audit reports detailing audit matters noted and recommendations.
Communicate and discuss the audit report with the process owners and other stakeholders.
Regularly update the Internal Audit leadership and relevant stakeholders with regards to the status of the audits, including key matters noted, constraints faced (if any), and the recommended solutions.
Manage the periodic follow-up exercise on the agreed action plans with the business partners.
Keep abreast of emerging risks and regulatory requirements within or outside HCT as well as evolving best practices in academic, operational and IT audit risks and controls.
Oversee the implementation of automated audit tools (including data/ audit analytics) and maintain a high level of staff proficiency in the use of these tools to enhance internal operational auditing activities.
Build up on lessons learnt from previous audit recommendations and manage their implementation in current audit processes when and where relevant.

Collaborate with the Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, and Legal departments to promote a culture of risk management and compliance.
Support innovation of HCT\xe2\x80\x99s Internal Audit function\xe2\x80\x99s procedures, tools, and methods by researching the latest trends, regulations, and standards in the audit.
Instills a risk management culture across HCT through various initiatives and programs.
Perform any other task as assigned by the Supervisor or to meet business needs.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Mandatory to have at least one internationally recognized professional certifications e.g., Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Advanced computer literacy is required e.g. MS Office.
• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in auditing, accounting, or a related field, with at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Ideally with audit experience in the Higher Education sector.
• Full English proficiency is required.
• Proficient level in Arabic (reading and writing) is preferred.
