Job Purpose:

The Manager IST is responsible to lead the information systems, security, system controls, and technology functions for all UAE business units.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategy & Planning

- Managing IT department budget and prioritizing funds based on primary organizational goals.

- Maintaining efficient relationships with other department heads to determine their technology needs.

- Creating a long-term strategy to determine when to update company computer systems and cybersecurity measures.

- Research new business technologies and IT software to strengthen the organization\'s computer systems.

- Meeting with management staff to propose ideas and relay information to the IT department.

- Implementing new software projects and computer technologies that support organizational goals and objectives.

Information Technology Controls and Business Continuity

- Performs general and application control reviews for information systems.

- Performs information control reviews to include system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.

- Performs reviews of internal control procedures and security for systems under development and/or enhancements to current systems.

- Periodically review the ITGC controls across the infrastructure and applications.

- Periodically review the Information Security and Business Continuity compliance as per Group Policies.

- Adhere to the company\'s group compliance on all IS and IT controls.

- Lead Information Security improvement initiatives.

Acquisition, Deployment, and Support

- Evaluate and deploy new applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications/ infrastructure in UAE.

- Review and analyze existing applications\' effectiveness and efficiency, and then develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.

- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-usage best practices.

- Collaborate with IT Solution providers, IT team, and business users in managing project timelines, cost, and support SLAs.

- Ensure that any new system integration into business systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.

- Liaise with software suppliers and internal stakeholders to address issues in program logic and the interoperability of new applications with existing systems software.

- Design, develop, install, and manage application enhancements and upgrades.

- Negotiate contracts with software and service providers.

Operational Management

- Manage and provide direction for the application and infrastructure teams in support of business operations.

- Develop relationships with internal business functions and external suppliers.

- Work diligently to enhance or improve business processes via integration or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes.

- Monitoring the productivity and performance levels of IT employees and conducting performance reviews.

- Provide Tier-III support to the organization.

- Maintain IT Infrastructure (cloud/on-prem) system stability.

- Ensure application, server, and Infrastructure security and best practices.

- Ensure systems and infrastructure availability.

- Planning future improvements, and suggesting IT solutions to business problems.

- Making sure the IT department meets industry standards.

Job Requirements:

- Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.

- Certified Member of CISA required.

- Certifications in Information Security and Business Continuity are highly preferred.

- Certification in project management or equivalent work experience.

- Technically fluent in system development, design, and implementation.

- Strong preference for prior Container Terminal or Logistics industry experience.

- Minimum 15 years of IT business transformation experience.

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Information Security Domain and Business Continuity Management.

- Minimum 10 years of experience with top-tier ERP solutions such as Oracle or SAP.

- Experience with the port/terminal industry is a must.

- Experience in information systems auditing with domain knowledge of both financial and transactional applications is highly preferred.

- In-depth knowledge of servers, networks, and infrastructure.

- Good project management skills and substantial exposure to project-based work structures.

- Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of application roadmap at a strategic level.

- Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.

- Experience with business process re-engineering and improvement.

- Strong knowledge of system and data quality assurance best practices and methodologies.

- Consulting experience in business process improvement with lean six sigma as an added advantage.

- Ability to efficiently acquire and utilize new skills in response to change.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Self-motivated, mature, adaptive to the dynamic business environment, and able to work under pressure.

- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and administrative skills.

- Good communication skills and proficiency in spoken and written English Language.
