Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven, and highly motivated

General Manager

to oversee all aspects of our trading business operations in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in the food commodity trading sector, specifically spices and pulses, and possess significant management experience within the UAE market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Business Development:

Develop and implement strategic plans to expand market share, increase sales volume, and improve profitability. Identify new market opportunities, product lines, and regional expansion prospects. Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers (origin markets) and major customers (wholesalers, retailers, food service, processors).

2. Operations & Supply Chain Management:

Oversee the entire supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and quality control for all spices and pulses. Ensure timely and cost-effective import and local distribution of commodities, adhering to all UAE customs and food safety regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality standards). Optimize warehouse operations and inventory turnover to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.

3. Financial Management & P&L Oversight:

Manage the company's P&L, budget, and financial forecasts. Monitor performance metrics and financial reports, taking corrective actions as necessary to achieve budgetary targets. Oversee pricing strategies, hedging, and risk management related to commodity market fluctuations.

4. Sales & Marketing:

Drive the sales team to meet and exceed targets. Develop effective sales and marketing campaigns to promote the company's products. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.

5. Team Leadership & Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team across sales, operations, finance, and administration. Foster a high-performance culture, ensuring compliance with all company policies and UAE labour laws.

6. Compliance & Administration:

Ensure all trading activities comply with local and international trade regulations, customs procedures, and food safety standards. Oversee contractual agreements with suppliers and clients.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 7+ years

of progressive management experience, with a significant portion in a leadership role.

Minimum 3-4 years of direct, hands-on experience in the UAE/GCC market

within the spices, pulses, or related food commodity trading industryis

. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA is a plus. Deep understanding of global sourcing markets (India, Pakistan, Africa, etc.) and regional distribution networks for spices and pulses. Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills (written and verbal). Fluency in English & Hindi is required; proficiency in Arabic, is plus.
