Synopsis

Leads a team of Lead Design Engineers (LDE), Design Engineers (DE), Design Technicians (DT) and CAD Technicians to deliver Major cabin modification \xe2\x80\x9cEASA STC\xe2\x80\x9d. MDE will function as a Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) and/or design signatory for one or more technical disciplines under EASA and/ or GCAA regulations.
Note: The role requires managerial discipline, dedication and meet aggressive targets on delivery of projects. It requires work outside normal office hours.

Accountabilities

• Accountable for the management of the engineering team and Design activities; which includes technical evaluation and feasibility studies of customer requests on cabin modification, provide proper solution and costing of projects.
• Help in designing and certifying modifications arising from customer requests.
• Management of the certification process for STC/major modification i.a.w the Design Organization Handbook and Procedures.
• Deploy and manage available resources to meet business needs and targets. Carry out short to medium term planning of resource needs to ensure regulatory compliance and to meet business unit objectives.
• Review and approve the working instructions and certification document(s) developed by the Engineers within the scope of DOA Part 21J.
• Approve minor deviations within the scope of Part 21J. Review and approve the substantiation data package and means of compliance to the certification specifications to comply with the Etihad Engineering Design Organization Handbook and Procedures approval process.
• Provide feedback identifying the critical path, risks and mitigation action of all ongoing projects. Contribute to daily meetings to ensure that deliverable targets, KPI\'s etc. are agreed upon. Ensure all possible mitigation action has been taken against risks. Support with any additional tasks or projects to meet organization objectives.
• Lead productivity initiatives and process improvement work streams to achieve efficient engineering process. Set and monitor performance objectives and technical competency on quarterly basis for all staff.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor\'s Degree or higher in the field of Aeronautical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics Engineering and +10 years\' experience in Development Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of management experience and 8 years related experience in design/development engineering in an EASA/GCAA Part 21J organization (equivalent FAA experience is acceptable) or TC holder or at a DOA/POA with similar scope to EYEng. Minimum 3 years of previous experience as a Compliance Verification Engineer.
• Formal training in Part 21J applicable courses is preferred.
