The Role Responsibilities

Job Summary
  • Balance Sheet Optimization while ensuring lower Cost of Funds and positive margins.
  • Balance Sheet forecasting, dividend planning and driving RWA Optimization initiatives.
  • Coordinating ALCO actions items and addressing ALCO participants queries.
  • Effective implementation of Policies, framework and Local Regulatory Compliance.
  • Preparation of ICAAP, Recovery Plan and Regulatory Stress Testing.
  • FTP Governance and Regulatory Reporting with effective controls.
  • Supporting Regional and Group initiatives to optimize RWA and improve margins.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting.
Strategy
  • Reporting any exceptions / breaches to senior management and ALCO.
  • Monitoring the development and up-dation of procedures, controls and monitoring plans for ORM.
Business
  • Monitor FTP mechanism.
  • Reporting unit\xe2\x80\x99s OR issues and losses.
Processes
  • Conduct and review of stress testing.
  • Ensure effective implementation of BASEL III guidelines related to Capital and Liquidity.
  • Ensure preparation of monthly and quarterly contractual, behavioural and repricing Gaps.
  • Preparation of weekly, fortnightly, monthly and quarterly contractual, behavioural and repricing Gaps.
People and Talent
  • Support the CFO with Recovery and Resolution Planning.
Risk Management
  • Identifying and reporting all weaknesses inherent in the standard controls.
Governance
  • Maintaining proper record keeping on all control testing related activities.
Regulatory and Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Pakistan Finance Balance Sheet Management team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles: Do the right thing, better together, never settle.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Preparation of liquidity related returns submitted to DFSA.

  • Support the CFO in all strategic decision making
Our Ideal Candidate
  • MBA / ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CMA or equivalent, preferably with emphasis on Finance.
  • 10 - 15 years of extensive experience covering all key disciplines of banking and finance, especially in BS management, various segments banking, strategic planning, budgeting, research, and operations.
  • The job-holder deals with highly complex business problems, conditions and constraints and needs to resolve issues at both macro and micro levels.
  • He/She must understand market dynamics / conditions across DIFC / region and adopt a multi-disciplinary approach within the bank, while recommending the course of action for enhancing the profitability and service delivery.
  • The job-holder directs and monitors the course of action of structural Liquidity management, capital, projects and support initiatives undertaken for the Balance sheet management.
  • The job holder analyses, evaluates and recommends the course of action to be taken on strategic issues and key business drivers such as performance levels, processes and procedures, etc.
  • Highly developed analytical and strategic thinking skills with strong organizational and leadership abilities and creativity. Previous experience of managing small teams of skilled individuals.
  • Sound knowledge of information technology.
