Primary Job Purpose To assist in the delivery of efficient and high-quality parasites in line with compliance regulations and timelines and management duties which includes management of departmental duties, resource scheduling, departmental reporting, and general management duties in line with good people practices and in accordance with departmental objectives

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Record and handle raw data by following set instructions and procedures to ensure accurate and consistent information for departmental and study use
- Cleaning of the facility and equipment by following set instructions and procedures to prevent contamination and achieve and maintain a clean, orderly and audit ready facility at all times
- Observe the workplace rules at all times and report non-conformance to the relevant person as to ensure that all activities in the workplace are compliant with company rules, policies, and procedures
- Interact and handle animals by following set instructions and procedures to ensure content, well-adjusted and cared for animals
- Safe and effective use and storage of laboratory consumables, following set instructions and procedures
- Interact and handle animals by following set instructions and procedures to ensure content, well-adjusted and cared for animals
- Perform specific parasite related and/or parasite breeding tasks by following set instructions and procedures to ensure safe and successful parasite practices
- Ensure relevant stock availability for all parasites in order to fulfil study needs
- Conduct relevant observations, examination and/ or analysis with regard to animal health and wellbeing by following set instructions and procedures
- Perform specific study related and/or study conduct tasks by following set instructions and procedures to ensure safe and successful study practices
- Handling and Storage of chemicals and laboratory consumables in an efficient, safe, and environmentally sustainable manner which is in accordance with the prescribed procedures and instructions
- Use and verification of relevant equipment by following set instructions and procedures in order to correctly use and verify equipment for tasks allocated
- Conduct blood and tissue sampling by following set instructions and procedures to determine animal health
- Perform study administrative tasks by following set instructions and procedures to ensure safe and successful study delivery
- Observe the correct reporting, remedial and corrective actions to be followed by following set instructions and procedures to report and correct any non-conformance issues
- Adherence to specified internal and external compliance and legislative standards, requirements, and practices
- Accomplish department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities
- Maintain staff by recruiting, orientating, and training employees
- Management duties which includes management of departmental duties, resource scheduling, departmental reporting, and general management duties in line with good people practices and in accordance with departmental objectives
- Coordinate with different departments to ensure successful study delivery
- Establishing staff duties by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Qualification and Experience Requirements
- Degree in Natural or Biological Science, or
- Diploma in Veterinary Medecine or Veterinary Technology or closely related field, and/or
- 6 - 8 years relevant experience
