SUMMARY Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing physical structures of buildings and maintaining grounds by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Direct workers engaged in performing repairs of the buildings, and all equipment or machinery. Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies. Inspect completed work for conformance specifications and standards. Interpret company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintain employee time and production records. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Perform activities of workers supervised. Requirements: Note: This position requires applicants to successfully pass a pre-employment, as well as an annual pulmonary function test (PFT). This position may expose the employee to isocyanates which are chemicals known to be respiratory irritants and sensitizers. While TSE provides personal protective equipment (PPE) to its employees working around such chemicals, the most current and best available medical data indicate that individuals with pre-existing respiratory conditions including but not limited to asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and the like are at high risk of experiencing serious, and possible fatal reactions to isocyanates, even at concentrations below the legally permissible exposure level (PEL). Therefore, due to this direct threat to their safety, TSE does not hire individuals with pre-existing respiratory conditions to work in this position. Likewise, TSE does not employ smokers to work in this position. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Directly supervise employees in the Maintenance Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have a valid driver's license. Forklift experience preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to effectively present information to top management. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to work with mathematical fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Employees in this position are required to wear a full face respirator and comply with TSE Respiratory Protection Program and Title 29 CFR 1910.134. Employees with facial hair or other conditions that would compromise the facepiece-to-face seal cannot work in this position. Examples of these conditions include beards or sideburns that interfere with the facepiece seal or valve function, certain dentures or dental conditions, facial deformities (e.g., scars, deep skin creases, prominent cheekbones), or the use of jewelry or headgear that projects under and interferes with the facepiece seal.
