Maintenance Foreman

Job Description

Assign daily maintenance tasks and projects to technicians and workers. Supervise maintenance staff to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to standard. Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel. Schedule preventive maintenance for machinery, facilities, and equipment. Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency and operational needs. Ensure proper allocation of resources--tools, equipment, and materials. Conduct regular inspections of buildings, machinery, and systems. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or structural issues and determine corrective actions. Ensure timely response to emergency maintenance calls. Maintain detailed logs of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections. Prepare and submit reports on maintenance activities, costs, and resource usage. Track inventory and order necessary supplies and spare parts. Ensure maintenance work complies with safety regulations, codes, and company policies. Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings. Identify potential hazards and initiate corrective measures. Liaise with management, engineers, and other departments to coordinate projects. Facilitate communication between shifts and ensure smooth handovers. Recommend improvements for equipment performance and reliability. Strong leadership and communication skills Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems Problem-solving and decision-making abilities Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals Attention to detail and safety-first mindset
