The successful candidate will play a leading role in designing and delivering a programme of work that will prototype, develop, deliver, and share algorithms and their fundamental understanding that underpin online services to help meet CAFU’s objectives. This is a hands-on position where you will be empowered to be ambitious and bold, using whatever tools and methodologies to contribute in developing models and solutions that solve challenging problems and have the potential to directly and substantially impact CAFU’S future. This is a senior role in the Machine Learning department, collaborating with a team of engineers, and setting strategic direction. The role requires that you have appreciable exposure in machine learning and statistics; the successful candidate will mix an in-depth knowledge of Machine/Deep Learning techniques, statistics and DevOps used in optimization, forecasting, routing problems, and on- line predictive/analytical systems with an ability to communicate this knowledge to various teams at CAFU. This will inform work throughout the Machine Learning lead, including transparency reports and platform monitoring. Requirements

• • An advanced degree (PhD preferred) in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or a similarly quantitative field.
  • A scientific mentality with the ability to ask the right questions, as well as answer them.
  • A proven track record in developing, innovating, and applying advanced Machine Learning/Statistical algorithmsto address practical problems.
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Good familiarity with AWS
  • Good familiarity with object-oriented programming and design principles
  • Expertise in one or more of the areas: statistics, vehicle routing problems, mixed integer programming (MIP) – optimization, customer churn, customer segmentation, multi-modal classification, predictive systems, DevOps (AWS)
  • Knowledge of Python, Scikit learn and related libraries, PyTorch, AWS
  • Strong project management abilities, including excellent organisational skills to manage and prioritise a range of work, projects, and ad hoc requests.
  • Exploring and advocating ways of utilising new ML and DL tools and techniques to tackle business and organisational challenges, drawing on the application of, and innovation in online platforms, and other sectors.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, with demonstrable ability to build and maintain working relationships with a broad range of people, including industry stakeholders and colleagues across CAFU.
  • Establishing a strong team spirit, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability, and supporting a culture of collaboration and trust
