The Demi Chef assists the Chef de Partie in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes. The role ensures consistency, hygiene, and efficiency in daily kitchen operations while supporting smooth service and maintaining standards set by the Executive Chef.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and quality standards.
Ensure all dishes are presented properly and consistently before leaving the kitchen.
Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of the workstation at all times.
Support the Chef de Partie in daily operations and during busy service periods.
Follow proper food handling, storage, and labeling procedures.
Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to the Chef de Partie.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries.
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
Work cooperatively with the team to meet service goals and maintain a positive work environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
