Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for Logistics Lead to provide Project team with overall management and coordination of logistics planning and execution and to Interface with Operations Logistics, Production Affiliate, Drilling, Procurement, and other General Services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leads & Controls all activities related to Marine Operations.

Provide logistics leadership and expertise to ensure effective planning and execution during all phases

Reviews logistics deliverables (Logistics Plans, Transportation Plans, etc.) to ensure meet requirements

Optimizes the usage of contracted fleet movements and personnel

Plans the movement of projects\xe2\x80\x99 materials to dispatch across the Company.

Efficiently controls the dispatch of all major project materials and special project materials and for movement across the company, requiring handling large volumes of extremely high value materials.

Directs the shipping and transportation of all material received out to the islands.

Controls the efficient shipping of waste from the islands to meet with the HSE policies of the Company and International Standards. Where necessary modifies the procedures to meet new and unforeseen threats caused by hazardous waste.

Manage and supervise marine fleet and marine spread capabilities for providing effective technical and functional support to projects to meet their marine requirements.

Ensure effective maintenance and regular updating of all marine charts, marine related drawings and documents for all vessels.

Monitor and manage fleet operation of all projects\xe2\x80\x99 vessels to ensure compliance with marine procedures with satisfactory and reliable performance.

Maintain high priority for HSE issues and ensure full implementation of HSE regulations by ensuring timely inspections are conducted on vessels / barges under review, any outstanding issues / points are addressed and rectified promptly and entry permits granted accordingly.

Review and approve contractors\xe2\x80\x99 preventive maintenance programs and dry-docking schedules for vessels under own scope, visit dry-dock during refurbishment of vessels and approve the temporary replacement of vessels during breakdown or dry-docking, so that continuity of operations is maintained.

Ensure field visits are conducted to check the condition of operating vessels and their conformity with international and local standards, regulations and the contractual technical specifications. Review and give technical acceptance to jobs performed by contractors.

Ensure regular contact is maintained with the islands and marine team is always kept informed and updated on any planned marine movements in the fields and that meteorological information is dispatched regularly to islands and vessels.

Lead the response to all projects Emergencies for fire-fighting, anti-pollution, search and rescue operations etc., in fields under project scope and advise on relevant methods and equipment.

Plan and manage all marine project activities in coordination with relevant parties and ensure these activities are conducted as per Company\xe2\x80\x99s standing instructions, good seamanship and approved procedures.

Establish and maintain effective communications and working relations with all Operations, Projects, on joint marine operations projects and governmental authorities such as Coast Guard, Offshore Oilfields Security Department.

Maintain contact with international organizations, Gulf States local regulatory bodies and OPCOs for updating marine standards and best practices. Participate in international and local forums for discussions and presentations on technical issues relevant to marine technical operations.

Lead investigation and analysis of any offshore marine accidents / incidents in liaison with HSE. Recommend and monitor crew-training, certification and leave rotation control in accordance with Marine Standards.

Develop, establish and implement marine standards (relating to personnel qualifications / material specifications / equipment for use in projects) specific to Company requirements within controlled operating areas for marine vessels. Monitor compliance of these standards in all marine operations.

Ensure that regular audits are conducted for marine contractors and long-term chartered vessels for policing and maintaining marine standards.

Guide, direct, coach, train and motivate team members (including trainees) to work to their best potential and perform effectively together as a team.

Work in line with HSE Policy and ensure awareness and compliance of HSE rules and regulations.

Develop, implement and review marine standards for barges / marine spread required for projects.

Ensure timely availability of marine capability for Search & Rescue operations as well as personnel evacuation in case of emergency.

Ensure mandatory usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), measure safety performance and reinforce safe work practices.

Plan, monitor and coordinate training and development of assigned UAE National Trainees and ensure they are guided and trained effectively.

Maintain current knowledge of contractor capabilities in appropriate markets

Oversee EPC contractor vessel sourcing, inspection and mobilization process

Monitors EPC contractor vessel fleet (materials, personnel, modules) and movements and reports same

Coordinates with EPC and Operations logistics team to ensure overlapping activities are minimized

Leverage Corporate expertise or specialists to accomplish logistics objectives and work plans

Ensures resources are properly allocated to special activities (e.g. module loadouts)

Monitors Contractor camps and ensures compliance with all requirements w/ inspections, audits

Demonstrate safety leadership \xe2\x80\x93 Responsible for HSE system implementation
QUALIFICATIONS
Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (foreign going) or Technical Degree with proven track record in managing projects and support operations in Oil & Gas Industry or equivalent experience.

15 years post-qualification experience in the marine industry, of which at least 7 years as Master in Offshore oil and gas and 5 years in offshore projects as superintendent /supervisor /or marine specialist

Previous offshore module load-in / load-out experience

Alternatively, experience in management as a key position in Offshore support marine operations
