Bachelor's Degree in Material Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience in transport or logistics operations/management, supply chain management, or related fields.
Experience working in the GCC or Middle East region (preferred).
Technical Specifications
Proven experience in maintaining proper stock levels and inventory accuracy.
Strong knowledge of warehousing, transportation, and supply chain activities.
Ability to negotiate competitive rates with freight carriers and service providers.
Competence in planning, managing, and monitoring the effective use of fixed assets and financial resources.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
Ability to conceptualize, plan, and implement systems and process improvements.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and fast-paced conditions.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing the efficient movement of goods from origin to destination, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery. This includes planning and coordinating transportation, working closely with warehousing teams, ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory requirements, documentation management, and shipment tracking. The role also involves communication with suppliers and customers, monitoring performance of logistics and clearance agents, and reporting on logistics activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: -
Primary Accountabilities
Plan and coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, selecting the most efficient and cost-effective transportation modes (road, air, sea) while ensuring product safety and timely delivery.
Monitor and manage temperature-sensitive goods, ensuring cold chain integrity to prevent spoilage and maintain product quality.
Manage import/export documentation and customs clearance, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
Track and monitor shipment status, transport costs, and identify areas for process improvement.
Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure effective coordination and quick resolution of issues.
Prepare and process shipping documents (bills of lading, invoices, customs declarations, etc.), ensuring compliance with international trade regulations.
Analyze logistics data, negotiate rates with suppliers and carriers, and identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing costs.
Investigate and resolve transportation delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.
Coordinate with the warehouse team and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies in consignment arrivals.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of international Incoterms.
Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers, suppliers, and 3PL providers; negotiate rates and monitor performance against KPIs and SLAs.
Ensure implementation of best practices and secure maximum benefit for the company when dealing with contractors.
Follow up on audit observations and implement improvements in logistics procedures.
Secondary Accountabilities: -
Analyze logistics data to identify cost-reduction and process-improvement opportunities, preparing reports on logistics performance for management.
Perform other related tasks as required.
