Logistics Coordinator
Overview:
A Logistics Coordinator is the central point for planning and managing the supply chain activities of a company. They ensure that goods, equipment, and materials are transported from origin to destination efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time.
Key Responsibilities:

• Shipment Coordination: Arrange transportation via land, sea, or air, including selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and booking shipments.
• Documentation: Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documents, such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and customs declarations.
• Tracking and Monitoring: Track shipments in real-time and proactively address any delays or issues that arise during transit.
• Customer/Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers, and carriers, providing updates and resolving inquiries.
• Inventory & Warehouse Coordination: Liaise with warehouse and storekeeping staff to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
• Cost Management: Monitor logistics costs and identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
• Compliance: Ensure all logistics activities comply with international, federal, and state regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is often preferred.
• Proven experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a similar role.
• Proficiency with logistics software (e.g., ERP systems, TMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
