Position Overview
The Lighting Designer role at Azizi Developments is based within the Design Studio in Dubai and plays a key role in delivering distinctive lighting concepts for landmark mixed-use, residential, cultural, and lifestyle developments. This position contributes to facade, interior, and landscape lighting design, supporting high-profile projects such as Azizi Venice and Azizi Opera, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to translate design intent into high-quality, buildable solutions.

Role Summary
The Lighting Designer is responsible for creating visually compelling and technically robust lighting designs that enhance architecture, interiors, and public spaces. The role supports concept development through tender stages, collaborates closely with MEP and design teams, and contributes to the delivery of lighting solutions that align with Azizi Developments' brand, placemaking goals, and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities

• Develop unique lighting design concepts for facade, interior, and landscape applications
• Work closely with MEP teams, Design Managers, Architects, Concept Architects, Interior Designers, and Landscape Architects
• Assist Electrical Engineers and CAD technicians in producing complete lighting design packages
• Prepare lighting concepts, presentations, reports, specifications, control schedules, calculations, BOQs, layouts, and detailed drawings
• Provide technical markups and contribute to deliverables from concept through tender stages
• Communicate lighting design ideas clearly through visual presentations and verbal explanations
• Apply relevant lighting standards including CIBSE, SLL, and other international and regional regulations
• Conduct site visits to support inspections and ensure design intent is maintained during execution
• Coordinate technical workshops with suppliers to stay aligned with innovative lighting products and technologies
• Stay updated on global and regional lighting trends and integrate best practices into project designs

Project and Team Collaboration

• Collaborate with internal and external consultants across all project stages
• Work independently while maintaining strong coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Contribute to team development by sharing technical knowledge and design expertise
• Attend conferences, exhibitions, and technical workshops to enhance industry knowledge
• Develop understanding of installation methodologies and share practical insights with the team

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or a related field
• Minimum ten to fifteen years of professional lighting design experience with a lighting consultancy or design-focused supplier
• Strong track record delivering lighting design projects across all stages
• Excellent visual and verbal communication skills with the ability to present design intent clearly
• Strong knowledge of lighting design principles, regulations, and industry best practices
• Proficiency in lighting and design software including Dialux Evo, Photoshop, AutoCAD, Revit and BIM, Lumion, SketchUp, 3D Max, InDesign, and MS Office
• Highly analytical with strong attention to detail, planning ability, and commercial awareness
• Experience working with consultants or developers on large-scale projects is preferred
