Al Safwan Marine is a fast-growing marine safety company serving clients worldwide. With over 80 employees, we specialize in lifeboat inspection, fire-fighting appliances, liferafts, automation, load testing, and the supply of marine safety equipment.
Work Scope
The Lifting Engineer will work as part of the Lifting Division, reporting to the Team Lead and Division Manager, carrying out inspections and testing of lifting equipment in line with industry standards.
Roles & Responsibilities
Inspect and test lifting equipment on-site and in workshops according to industry specifications.
Complete inspection documentation, test certificates, defect reports, and other paperwork accurately.
Travel between sites and workshops to execute inspection jobs.
Demonstrate knowledge of inspection and testing techniques for various types of lifting equipment.
Prepare method statements and risk assessments as required.
Perform water bag testing for marine cranes, gangways, and accommodation ladders.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with clients and ship crews.
Support planning, scheduling, and cost estimations for inspection projects.
Participate in technical training at manufacturer facilities.
Work in workshops, yards, offshore, and overseas locations as needed.
Stay updated on new products and services in the marine industry.
Ensure compliance with company HSE and safety protocols.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent diploma.
2-5 years of experience in marine or oil & gas lifting inspection.
LEEA, ENAS, or EIAC certification is an advantage.
NDT inspection experience is a plus.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and initiative.
Team player with good communication skills.
