Salary: Negotiable, dependent on candidate\'s expertise and fit for the role We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal & Regulatory Officer to join Fintopio, our dynamic blockchain web3 wallet startup. The Legal & Regulatory Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the company\'s regulatory strategy, ensuring the company\'s compliance with VARA regulations and other relevant laws. As a key member of the senior management team, the Legal & Regulatory Officer will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. Main duties include: 1. Understanding VARA regulations: Staying up-to-date with VARA regulations, rulebooks, and any updates or amendments to ensure the company remains compliant 2. Implementing compliance policies and procedures: Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies and procedures in line with VARA requirements, including AML/CTF, KYC, Conduct of Business, Data Privacy etc. 3. Monitoring and reporting: Monitoring the company\'s compliance with VARA regulations and other relevant laws, and reporting any issues or concerns to management. Review and resolve transaction monitoring alerts. Manage KYC queries and issues. 4. Liaising with regulators: Acting as the primary contact for VARA and other relevant regulatory authorities, ensuring open and transparent communication. 5. Make relevant Suspicious activity report submissions, work alongside the Chief Compliance officer to resolve relevant complaints. Work with law enforcement as appropriate. 5. Staying informed on industry developments: Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant. 6. Training and education: Providing training and education to employees on compliance-related topics, ensuring they understand and adhere to the company\'s compliance policies and procedures. 7. Risk management: Identifying and assessing potential risks related to VARA compliance, and implementing measures to mitigate those risks. 8. Auditing and internal controls: Conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with VARA regulations and other relevant laws, and implementing internal controls to prevent non-compliance. 9. Cross-functional collaboration: Working closely with other departments, such as legal, finance, and operations, to ensure a comprehensive approach to compliance. 10. Crisis management: Developing and implementing crisis management plans to address any compliance-related issues that may arise, and working with management to resolve those issues in a timely and effective manner. The ideal candidate for this role would have a strong understanding of Crypto and VARA regulations and the broader virtual assets landscape, as well as experience in compliance, risk management, and legal and regulatory affairs within the financial services industry Job Type: Full-time Salary: From AED25,000.00 per month
