We are looking for a qualified Legal Officer to oversee the legal aspects of the business of our Bandenia Group. We are a group of subsidiary companies providing services in Trade Finance, Mortgages, Commodity Trading and Real Estate respectively. You will safeguard our reputation by guaranteeing that the company strictly follows law guidelines and give legal advice to management about all relevant issues. The successful candidate will effectively ensure legal conformity and will be responsible for the legal affairs of the entire corporation. This role includes providing legal counsel to the chairman, board of directors and other senior management. for a Legal Officer Key Responsibilities - Provide technical inputs (including but not limited to legal analysis, drafting of laws, policies and development of procedures) To ensure that all processes and changes thereto are fully documented. - Draft and Review tenders and contracts and confirms compliance with all legal requirements and contracts procedures. It includes confirming that the company's tender or contract complies with relevant laws and regulations, confirming that the company's legal interests are maintained at all stages of the procedure and recommending suitable wording to meet complex contractual requirements or objectives. - To assist Documentation team when required, including drafting of new formats of documentation. - To vet/draft agreements pertaining to all services availed by or provided by the Bank and assist in the complete implementation of all agreements. - To vet/draft security documents in accordance with approved terms, evaluating critical issues pertaining to security documents and ensuring that they do not contain any irregularity. - Participate in legal actions of the group. Includes liaising with appropriate line management and analyzing legislation, case judgment from the court of appeal, drafting the brief and line argument for the lawyer, issuing all documentation and ensure proper follow up and report on the status of new and outstanding cases with proper escalation to Management.
- To introduce a prioritization process and turnaround time for all cases referred by Recovery Department;
- To assist in the drafting of answers to plaints with summons and counter affidavits and ensure that, at all times, the interests of the Bank are well protected.
- To keep up to date with amendments in legislations and advise on their implications for the Bank.
- Write letters, claims, standard claims and rejoinders for arbitration and courts, etc.
- Advice regarding conflicts of interest, agreements, claims and advising action to be taken to avoid or minimize disputes and litigation.
- Must know and understand all "Government of Dubai, Land Department" fees, services and laws and regulations that will be provided in due course.
- Other related duties, tasks and responsibilities will be relayed in due course.
Qualifications & Experience:
- LLB undergraduate degree holder.
- At least five years' legal experience in financial services ideally in a handling legal cases , contract negotiation and drafting with skills in leading a legal team, preferably in the Banking Sector in UAE. Job Type: Full-time Salary: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
