Legal Director, Humanitarian Projects Support CLIENT: We are recruiting for a Legal Director to fit into a highly unusual position within a leading people management organisation. They concentrate specifically into supporting humanitarian aid projects across conflict zones of the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Such roles are extremely rare and hardly ever come into the Dubai market, and we are inviting interest from candidates. ROLE: The position will see you supporting an executive leadership team, by providing strategic legal counsel across operations, risk and compliance, across multiple related businesses and jurisdictions. Some examples of specific tasks would be:

• Overseeing contract negotiations, drafting, and review for a wide range of agreements, including client contracts, joint ventures, partnerships, supplier contracts, employment agreements and mergers and acquisitions.
• Managing the corporate governance and compliance landscape throughout the business including set up of new companies as required.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with departments such as finance, human resources, compliance, and operations to address legal issues and manage risks effectively.
• Leading and overseeing litigation and dispute resolution efforts, working closely with external counsel as necessary.

CANDIDATE: There are some essential criteria to take into consideration:

• You\xe2\x80\x99ll need to have 5+ years of probably general corporate and commercial work.
• Experience working in-house is an advantage, though private practice applicants are welcome.
• Experience within the humanitarian sector and conflict-affected states is an advantage, but not a necessity.
• Experience in dealing with multiple, sometimes challenging jurisdictions.
• Harbour a true desire to do something different and challenging.
• Fluency in English is essential. French and Arabic language skills are favourable.
