Position Overview
The Legal Counsel Group Treasury role at DP World in Dubai supports the Group Lead Counsel by providing strategic, commercially focused legal advice on treasury and financing matters across global operations. Key Responsibilities

• Support the Group Lead Counsel Group Treasury in advising on legal issues arising from debt financings including project finance, corporate finance, guaranteed facilities, refinancings, restructurings, and Islamic finance
• Advise internal stakeholders on bank financings, treasury products and services, and intercompany lending while identifying and mitigating legal, operational, and commercial risks
• Prepare and review financing documentation and provide practical guidance on the impact of terms on proposed and existing corporate activities
• Support legal negotiations on financing documents with Group Treasury and external stakeholders and assist with transaction implementation
• Identify departures from precedent and DP World standards and analyze legal risks associated with proposed funding structures
• Coordinate with external legal counsel, provide clear instructions, review deliverables, and help manage external legal spend
• Promote collaboration between Group Treasury, Group Legal, and regional business unit legal teams globally
• Draft, review, and update standard loan, guarantee, and derivative documentation to maintain and enhance Group precedents
• Monitor legal and regulatory changes impacting treasury activities and support implementation of required updates to policies and documentation
• Review and advise on ad hoc finance and treasury-related documents including NDAs, banking terms, deal confirmations, and intercompany loans
• Contribute to continuous business improvement initiatives aligned with Group objectives

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor of Law degree from an accredited common law jurisdiction or admission to practice law in a common law jurisdiction
• Current practicing certificate from a recognized legal regulatory body
• Three to five years post-qualification experience in a leading international law firm within debt finance
• Strong experience with English law governed loan, guarantee, and security documentation and familiarity with LMA standards
• Experience supporting cross-border financings from term sheet to financial close
• High commercial awareness with the ability to operate across diverse legal and cultural environments
