We are seeking a dynamic and pragmatic Legal Counsel to join a mission-led, fast-scaling organisation. As Legal Counsel, you will be the first point of legal contact across the organisation, advising on commercial, corporate, regulatory, and contractual matters. Job Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts including NDAs, partnership agreements, service contracts, procurement terms, and investment documentation.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Identify potential legal risks and provide strategic solutions to minimise business exposure.
• Support board meeting preparation, corporate filings, and liaise with external corporate secretaries as required.
• Advise internal teams including operations, finance, engineering, and sustainability on legal implications of business initiatives.
• Assist in protecting proprietary technology, innovations, and ensure compliance with data privacy laws.
• Manage relationships with external law firms and specialists when necessary.
• Support on legal matters involving international jurisdictions, joint ventures, and grant or funding agreements.

Skills and Requirements:

• Law degree from a reputable institution.
• Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience, preferably including in-house exposure within a startup, energy, or environmental sector.
• Strong understanding of commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and cross-border legal issues.
• Proactive, solution-oriented, commercially savvy, and confident in advising senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment with shifting priorities.
