Job Description

Khazna was founded in 2012, and has grown rapidly into becoming the leading and trusted wholesale data center provider in the Middle East and North Africa region. Through our data centers, we provide industry benchmark levels of power supply and cooling services to better serve the growing need for data center operations in the UAE and wider region. We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal team. He/ she will assist in promoting excellent standards of governance and to operate an end to end corporate governance and compliance program. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring delivery of the Ethics and Compliance program Program (including all required policies and standards).
  • Ensuring delivery of the governance materials (as required and where applicable).
  • Ensuring delivery of the required set up of new entities and businesses (as applicable).
  • Installing the relevant monitoring of compliance mechanism as per the applicable regulations and the E&C Program.
  • Promptly meeting all requests for advice as to governance and compliance matters and managing queries and requests from relevant stakeholders, bringing them to resolution by developing effective solutions.
  • Reviewing agreements/minutes/material relevant to governance and compliance.
  • Liaising with the appropriate stakeholders and contributing to the development of weekly, monthly or annual reports (as applicable).
  • Being responsible for conducting risk assessment, gap analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
  • Conducting compliance and governance training workshops.
  • Undertaking compliance related investigations, when required and submitting findings and reports.
  • Providing input into preparation of the governance and compliance functions budget.
Minimum eligibility requirements and key competencies:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Law is a must.
  • A Master's degree would be advantageous.
  • Compliance certificate or evidence to show working towards obtaining compliance certification would be advantageous.
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in managing a governance and compliance program and advising on compliance and governance related issues in a reputable law or consultancy firm, big four or large corporations preferably telecom/technology companies.
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken Arabic and English.
  • Strong understanding of imbedding compliance programs within the business, managing and advising on integrity due diligence/compliance risk assessment, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures, interaction and ability to manage key stakeholders.
  • Investigation experience
  • Deep knowledge of the local laws in UAE.
  • Familiarity in dealing with ADGM/DIFC/CBUAE would be advantageous.
  • Confidence to work effectively and with minimal supervision on matters that require significant collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Integrity and discretion handling and advising on confidential or sensitive information.
