We have been given a mandate by a prominent management consultancy firm in Abu Dhabi. They are currently looking for a Legal Counsel. You will play a critical role in providing legal advice, support, and guidance on various legal matters pertaining to the organization\'s operations and business activities in the UAE. You will be responsible for ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risks, and safeguarding the company\'s interests in accordance with local laws and regulations.

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Offer expert legal advice and opinions to the management and relevant stakeholders on a wide range of legal issues related to the company\'s operations in the UAE.

• Interpret and analyze laws, regulations, and government policies that affect the company\'s activities and ensure compliance with local legal requirements.

• Review, draft, and negotiate various contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to business transactions, partnerships, employment, licensing, and other legal matters.

• Identify potential risks and liabilities in contracts and propose appropriate modifications to protect the company\'s interests.

• Monitor changes in UAE laws and regulations that could impact the company\'s operations.

• Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

• Conduct internal audits to assess compliance levels and recommend corrective actions.

• Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and alternative dispute resolution methods (mediation, arbitration) as necessary.

• Collaborate with external legal counsel when required, ensuring effective management of litigation matters.

• Advise on corporate governance matters, including company structure, director responsibilities, and board meetings.

• Oversee intellectual property rights protection and enforcement to safeguard the company\'s trademarks, copyrights, and patents.

• Identify legal risks and potential liabilities in business operations and propose strategies to minimize such risks.

• Conduct legal research to support decision-making and provide recommendations to mitigate legal exposures.

• Liaise with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and external legal advisors to ensure a cohesive and constructive working relationship.

• Collaborate with various departments within the organization to provide legal insights and support their initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor\'s degree in Law from a recognized university; a master\'s degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, preferably with exposure to legal practices in both the UAE and either the US or UK jurisdictions.

• Strong knowledge of UAE legal system, commercial laws, and regulations.

• Familiarity with US or UK legal systems and experience working with relevant laws and regulations.

• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated experience in contract drafting, negotiation, and legal analysis.

• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
