This is a full-time on-site role for a Legal Consultant - Iraq Law Specialist based in Dubai. The Legal Consultant will handle day-to-day legal tasks, provide legal advice, assist with legal issues, and prepare legal documents. The role requires a deep understanding of Iraq's legal systems and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal consultation on
Iraqi laws
, regulations, and court procedures.
Advise on cross-border transactions involving Iraq, including corporate setup, compliance, and contracts.
Draft and review agreements, memoranda, and legal opinions in both Arabic and English.
Support litigation and arbitration proceedings involving Iraqi law or parties.
Liaise with Iraqi authorities, local legal counsel, and clients as needed.
Conduct legal due diligence for investments or business operations in Iraq.
Monitor changes in Iraqi laws and provide updates and risk assessments to clients and internal teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Law (Iraq-qualified lawyer preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience practicing or advising on Iraqi law, preferably in a corporate or international law firm environment.
Strong understanding of Iraqi civil, commercial, and criminal legal frameworks.
Experience with cross-border legal matters is highly preferred.
Ability to draft legal documents in both Arabic and English.
Skills Required:
Fluent in
Arabic and English
(both written and spoken).
Strong legal research, drafting, and advisory skills.
Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication.
High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Familiarity with the UAE legal environment is a plus.
