My client is an asset management firm based in Dubai. They are looking for a seasoned legal professional to join the team as the Director of Fiant Currency Operations. The role involves overseeing all legal compliance and operational matters related to traditional fiat currencies.

Responsibilities

Legal Compliance:
Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing traditional fiat currency operations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and know your customer (KYC) requirements.

Operational Oversight:
Oversee the day-to-day legal currency operations, ensuring smooth and efficient processes.

Regulatory Liaison:
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and agencies related to legal currency operations.
Coordinate and manage regulatory examinations and inquiries.

Policy Development:
Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in legal currency operations.

Risk Management:
Identify and assess legal and operational risks associated with legal currency activities.
Implement risk mitigation strategies and controls.

Collaboration with Legal Team:
Collaborate with the legal team to ensure alignment between legal currency operations and overall legal strategies.
Provide legal insights on currency-related matters.

Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on legal currency operations, compliance metrics, and key performance indicators to senior management and relevant stakeholders.

Vendor and Partner Management:
Oversee relationships with vendors and partners involved in legal currency operations.
Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience in legal roles, with a focus on financial services or currency operations.
• In-depth knowledge of laws and regulations related to fiat currency operations, AML, and KYC.
• Strong understanding of the crypto industry and its legal landscape.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven leadership experience in legal and operational roles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
