Experience in commercial company is mandatory
Education level: bachelor from UK or European university is preferable
Role & Responsibility of the resource:
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for legal tasks under the supervision of the General Counsel.
The responsibly of the Legal Counsel shall include, Inter alia, review, amend, and draft commercial agreements.
Support and advise on compliance matters and framework.
Conduct initial legal search and provide initial studies on legal matters to the General Counsel
Assist the General Counsel with the day-to-day legal work
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with all relevant federal, local, and industry-specific regulations and laws in the UAE.
Policy Development: Develop and update compliance policies, procedures, and codes of conduct to reflect changes in regulations and industry standards.
Risk Assessment: Identify and assess potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Training and Education: Provide compliance training to employees and management to ensure understanding and adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor compliance activities within the organization and report any violations to the appropriate authorities, if necessary.
Internal Investigations: Conduct internal investigations to identify and rectify compliance issues. Maintain records and documentation of these activities.
Third-Party Due Diligence: Evaluate and monitor the compliance of third-party vendors and partners.
Data Privacy and Protection: Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, such as GDPR and UAE's data protection laws.
Ethical Conduct: Promote ethical behavior and integrity throughout the organization.
Whistleblower Programs: Implement and manage whistleblower programs to allow employees to report concerns anonymously.
Qualification:
Admitted to practice Law in his/her home country.
8-10 years of PQE in commercial and corporate departments.
