Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts (FIDIC, subcontractor agreements, joint ventures, MOUs).
Advise project teams and senior management on legal issues arising during the project lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with UAE civil and labor laws, local authority regulations, and international standards.
Manage disputes, claims, and potential litigation related to project delays, variations, and contractual breaches.
Liaise with external legal counsel and government authorities on legal and regulatory matters.
Monitor changes in laws, especially those related to construction, labor, safety, and environment.
Support procurement and commercial teams in reviewing supplier and vendor agreements.
Conduct risk assessments on new projects and tenders.
Maintain accurate legal records, case files, and correspondence.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB); LLM preferred.
Licensed to practice law in the UAE or home jurisdiction with UAE legal experience.
Minimum 5 years' experience as a legal advisor or legal counsel in the construction industry.
Solid understanding of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction law.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, arbitration, and dispute resolution.
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
High attention to detail and legal accuracy.
Effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations.
Fluent in English & Arabic.
