The LED Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting LED lighting systems used in onshore and offshore oil & gas facilities. This includes ensuring compliance with industrial safety standards, energy efficiency requirements, and operational reliability in harsh environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement LED lighting systems suitable for hazardous and non-hazardous areas.
Perform site surveys and prepare lighting layouts, calculations, and technical drawings.
Select appropriate LED fixtures, drivers, and control systems as per project specifications and explosion-proof standards (ATEX/IECEx).
Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of LED lighting systems at oil & gas plants, refineries, and offshore platforms.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of LED systems to ensure continuous operation.
Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and HSE teams to ensure safe and efficient lighting system operation.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and compliance certificates.
Evaluate and implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce operational costs and carbon footprint.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 10-15
years
of experience in industrial lighting or electrical engineering, preferably in oil & gas.
Strong knowledge of
LED technology
,
lighting design software (Dialux/Relux)
, and
electrical standards (IEC, NEC)
.
Experience with
hazardous area classification (Ex-proof lighting)
.
Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Ability to work under pressure in remote or offshore locations.
