The Department
The Department of Chemistry is an academic unit within the College of Arts and Sciences comprising some 25 faculty members and laboratory staff. The department offers a BSc. in Chemistry (with tracks in Environmental, Materials, Medicinal and Forensic Chemistry) that was launched in August 2017. The department is also responsible for teaching chemistry to students majoring in engineering disciplines as well as those pursuing the KU Pre-Medicine Bridge program. There is also a well established MSc in Applied Chemistry programme and a PhD Chemistry programme commenced in 2021.

The Department invites applications for faculty positions at the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer rank. A Master degree in a chemical science (not a PhD) is required together with three years of teaching experience (eight years for a Senior post), preferably in higher education. The postholder will teach chemistry mainly at introductory and/or freshman levels. There is no expectation that independent chemistry research will be conducted although an interest in developing and applying recent research in chemical education will be an advantage.
Please note that PhD holders will NOT be considered.
