is seeking a qualified and experienced

Lecturer in English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

to join the

Global Pathways Centre (GPC)

. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the academic development of international students enrolled in the

International Year Zero (IYZ) Foundation Programme

, designed to support their successful transition into undergraduate and postgraduate study.
The IYZ programme offers an innovative curriculum underpinned by the

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

, focusing on academic skills development and discipline-specific knowledge. The Lecturer will deliver core EAP modules while also contributing to campus-wide English language support and academic success initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach across foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels, with a focus on EAP and Academic Study Skills modules. Develop, maintain, and evaluate teaching and assessment materials aligned with programme outcomes. Support student achievement by delivering engaging lessons across reading, writing, listening, and speaking within an academic context. Provide timely feedback on assessments and maintain accurate academic records in line with university policy. Actively participate in curriculum development, student engagement activities, and quality assurance processes. Support in-sessional academic English needs across the campus community. Collaborate with colleagues to build a student-focused learning environment and contribute to outreach and retention efforts. Engage in continuing professional development and maintain currency in English language teaching methods and pedagogical innovation.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications:

A

Master's degree in an English-related discipline

(e.g. ELT, TESOL, Applied Linguistics) - Required*
A recognised

ELT qualification

(e.g. DELTA, CELTA, or equivalent experience) - Required*
All academic qualifications must be

attested by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)

or be eligible for attestation upon offer of employment - Required*
Candidates must also ensure their qualifications are eligible for

UAE Ministry of Education equivalency

, or be willing to begin this process upon appointment

Experience:

Minimum

3-5 years of teaching experience

, including experience in a

UK higher education institution

Experience teaching EAP to foundation-level students and at UG/PG levels - Required*
Proven record of developing EAP course materials and contributing to curriculum innovation - Required*
Familiarity with UK HE systems and standards of academic writing and research - Required*
