Job summary
MISSION:
Demonstrating an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility;
Working as Lead Engineer for a project or multiple projects and produce design deliverables, as per approved budget/schedule;
Ensuring the deliverables meet the contractual requirements, Codes, Standards & Regulatory requirements;
Reviewing and approving material requisition, data sheet, Technical Bid valuation;
Coordination with other discipline and departments;
Coordination with client;
Adhere to Quality Systems Procedure / Client\'s Group Management System standards;
Responsible for the overall execution and control on projects;
Responsible for reporting, controlling and monitoring the job execution;
Assisting team members by providing technical guidance;
Mentoring junior engineers & designers.
TASKS:
Leading the process of preparation of design deliverables with due consideration for Applicable Codes & Standards;
Interfacing with Leads of other departments to reflect the as on-date input from other Departments as applicable;
Organizing and managing all aspects of the workload of discipline engineers and designers, within the parameters of a project schedule.
Material engineering which includes preparation of Purchase specifications, Purchase requisition (as required), Technical bid Evaluation, Vendor document review;
Manpower estimation, work planning / forecast and effective utilization of manpower, progress monitoring and adherence to scheduled completion of engineering documents;
Providing technical support to engineers and designers;
Leading all design review meetings;
Monitoring and reviewing design change;
Taking ownership of deliverables produced & their quality;
Capturing all changes / modifications in the deliverables that has been intimated by Project, prior to release of deliverable;
Ensuring appropriate checking & review of all documents / drawings before release at any revision status;
Attending project review meetings & 3D model review meetings as required;
Coordination with the other Engineering disciplines, client and vendors;
Ensuring vendor documentation received on time;
Control of Quality of engineering documents with regard to Quality assurance basis;
Identifying training needs of team members;
Identifying the design improvements and lesson learned;
Keeping HOD informed on progress of project, with agreed periodicity;
Monitoring Budget Compliance of design deliverable production;
Conducting training and orientation for engineers and designers regarding various structural design activities in accordance with Department Training Plan;
Maintaining, controlling and monitoring Quality Assurance System;
Attending all QA Audit for the concerned project;
Assisting Engineering Department Manager about the department operation when required;
Approving corrective actions for CAR (Corrective Action Request);
Assisting the discipline manager in achieving the department key performance indicators (KPIs);
Ensuring Compliance to HSES policies and procedures as applicable;
Ensuring Compliance with all applicable information security policies & procedures.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Education BSc/BTech Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; MSc/MTech Degree is an advantage;
Minimum Experience 10-15 years in offshore oil and gas facilities, drilling rigs with major Construction Yard/EPC contractor and/or consultant;
Conversant with Engineering Standards such as ASME, AISC, API, ASTM, BS/EN. Classification Rules/Regulatory Requirements such as ABS, DNV, BV, CAP 437;
Hands on Experience in Structural software such as StaadPro, SACS, ANSYS, MathCAD;
Good analytical experience in Offshore structures, Onshore Oil & Gas plants;
Saudi Aramco standards experience is required;
Good understanding of floating structures;
Working knowledge of international codes and standards;
Preparation of specification, technical evaluation, vendor documentation review;
Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment;
Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with ability to interact across multiple disciplines;
Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others with regard to continuous improvement;
Experience in fabrication / construction / installation engineering of various structures.
