Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? The Cloud Platform Architect is a customer obsessed individual whose primary responsibility is to ensure the success of our customers on their Multi-Cloud & Apps modernization journey, using VMware technologies. Within 90 days of employment, you will sharpen your technical knowledge and get to master VMware’s unique value proposition, learn from your buddy and shadow your peers in customer meetings. You will slowly take a more active role in customer facing activities. Within 12 months, you will be autonomous in leading complex strategy & discovery workshops to identify and validate customer use cases, providing technical direction and best practice guidance, enabling customer on operational benefits gained by using VMware solutions, producing high level roadmaps and architecture designs, leading research efforts, soliciting guidance from internal stakeholders. You will also earn trust from customers on numerous engagements. What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

• Work closely with the VMware Sales team during sales cycles and opportunities development
  • Champion VMware's cloud vision & strategy and integrated vision across private, hybrid, and public offerings
  • Confidently gather use case requirements through discovery workshops while functioning as an advisory resource for "Best Practices" and driving adoption of VMware solutions
  • Engage on complex topics with a range of audiences
  • Run outcome focused workshops using a solution-based approach to solving problems
  • Think past the products and craft solutions to meet the business/IT needs of the customer
  • Work in collaboration with other specialist teams within VMware
  • Clearly communicate technical challenges that may affect business timelines
  • Establish trust with key decision makers, produce a roadmap that is endorsed by them and that is aligned to their business goals
• Maintain overall industry knowledge on the latest trends, technology, etc.
• Author blogs, technical articles, and technical white papers
• Participate in and contribute to global industry events, and technical community events representing and evangelizing VMware Cloud solutions and services
