Overview:
G42 is seeking a highly skilled Lead Back-End Engineer to join our team in building and maintaining a data platform for managing multimodal healthcare datasets and developing artificial intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and experience with back-end technologies, including database systems and APIs. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for guiding the development of the back-end components of the platform and AI solutions, mentoring team members, and driving technical innovation.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development of the data platform and AI solutions, including database systems, APIs, and design/implementation of new features
- Collaborate with the product and engineering team to design and implement the technical architecture for the data platform
- Mentor and guide other engineers, providing technical direction and support
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
- Participate in code reviews to ensure the quality of the platform and AI solutions
- Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise
- Contribute to the development of a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the team
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends and best practices, and identify opportunities to incorporate them into the platform and AI solutions
To qualify, you must have
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on back-end technologies and scalable software architectures
- Strong proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Java (preferred), Python, Java, C#, etc.)
- Experience with database systems (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL)
- Experience building and maintaining APIs
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices (e.g. code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration)
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills
