The successful candidate will support research and development of Aircraft Electric-Hybrid Propulsion System architectures and components.
The candidate will work closely with the Director of the Aircraft Propulsion Research and other members of the Hybrid Electric Research team to define and execute hybrid electric research programs.
Work with senior researchers to define requirements and define the preferred hybrid electric architecture and perform simulations using PLECS or other simulation environments.
Procure components and assemble prototype architecture for testing.
Define and procure test bench infrastructure. Develop and execute test plans.
Develop personal knowledge and skills related to the latest techniques and applications relevant to electrified propulsion technology.
Collect and reduce test data, review, and write technical reports.
Prepare and write papers for submission to peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Execute research activities on schedule and with conformity to established regulations (health, safety, regulations, ethics)
Develop and implement action plans to address issues associated with power electronics as they arise on progra
Qualifications
Experience in aviation electrical power engineering
Master\'s degree in electrical engineering
Minimum 5 years\' experience designing power electronic circuits.
Experience with high voltage and high-power converters/inverters
Working knowledge of EMI (CM an DM), transformers, and semiconductor switches and different PWM schemes
Simulation experience with PLECS or similar tools
Working knowledge and design experience with 3-phase motor/generator systems
Strong Electrical circuit design experience and layout knowledge
Hands on experience working in a lab environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Fluency in English is required. Arabic is considered a plus.
