Position Overview
KU is seeking a highly motivated Post-doctoral Fellow to work on Power Electronics applications (FC Vehicle and drones) under Advanced Power and Energy Center (APEC). The mission of APEC is to craft the future of electric energy systems allowing seamless and economical operation of high capacity renewable/non- renewable energy resources, while supporting hybrid AC/DC grids, and providing optimal architecture for smart grid and transportation electrification. The Advanced Power Electronics Devices theme (Theme-II) under APEC focuses on the integration of renewable energy plants into the utility grid. The aim of this theme is on conducting advanced research in the area of power electronics including converter/inverter topologies, modularity and control that supports other projects within the Center at large. In this theme, we will be developing modern power electronics-based solutions for different application with emphasis on fast charges for EVs, electric power system for CubeSats and Drones, dc microgrids and hybrid AC/DC systems.
We have an opening for a Post-doc under the theme-II to carry out advanced power electronics-based system work. The candidate should have an established track record evident by publication in top quality journals. The ideal candidate should also have expertise in some of the following areas of Power Electronics and Control Systems:
