Our International MEP Engineering Consultancy client has a new requirement for a well experienced consultant Mechanical Engineer to join their team to work on high Commercial build and refurbishment projects in Abu Dhabi. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Mechanical Engineer for large scale projects in the GCC. Preference will be given to candidates from a recognised consultancy company background This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 6 month contract position employed as an outsourced engineer through J10 Consulting. Key Responsibilities: As the primary liaison between the design office and the tier one client, the right candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless delivery and installation of MEP engineering services on-site, while cultivating and nurturing strong client relationships. As the Site-Based Client-Facing Lead MEP Engineer, the candidate will be empowered to make a significant impact and contribute to the success of prestigious construction projects. Innovative ideas and problem-solving abilities will be highly valued for the successful candidate collaborate closely with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems within the project's overall vision.
Contract length: 6 months
- Project Management: Lead and manage MEP engineering activities for assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Maintain regular communication, provide progress updates, and address any concerns or issues promptly.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and expertise on MEP design, installation, and troubleshooting. Review design documents, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and best practice industry standards.
- Team Leadership: Supervise MEP construction works. Assign tasks, provide guidance, and monitor construction progress to ensure quality and timely completion of work.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control processes to ensure MEP systems meet the highest standards of performance, efficiency, and safety. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any deficiencies.
- Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of MEP systems with overall project requirements. Coordinate with different trades to resolve conflicts and ensure proper sequencing of work.
- Change Management: Evaluate and manage changes to MEP systems during the construction process. Assess the impact of changes on cost, schedule, and quality, and communicate the necessary adjustments to clients and internal teams.
- Compliance and Codes: Stay updated on relevant Abu Dhabi building codes, regulations, and industry best practices related to MEP systems. Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to MEP systems. Develop contingency plans and provide recommendations to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, change orders, and progress reports. Prepare and present weekly reports to clients and management on project status, key milestones, and performance metrics.
- Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 6 years post undergraduate experience
- Proven related professional experience in a recognised consultancy company or Tier 1 PMC
- Strong experience of HVAC and Mechanical upgradation and installation
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience of working on large scale commercial build or refurbishment projects
- Strong design review skills.
