Experience:
Minimum 15 years in design experience within Oil & Gas projects
Key Responsibilities:
Take full technical responsibility for Loss Prevention/Technical Safety design and guide a team of designers in day-to-day project execution.
Develop detailed engineering solutions, ensuring deliverables meet all Technical Safety requirements and maintain risks as low as reasonably practicable.
Prepare Loss Prevention, Fire Protection, and Fire & Gas Detection philosophies.
Conduct firewater hydraulic calculations and develop firewater demand summaries.
Prepare Hazardous Area Classification schedules and drawings.
Develop Fire & Gas layouts, Cause & Effect diagrams, and safety equipment layouts.
Perform fire network design, radiation and dispersion modeling, consequence analysis, and QRA.
Prepare dispersion study reports and tender bid evaluations for fire and safety equipment.
Define inter-distance requirements between equipment and prepare escape routes, safety signs, and equipment layouts.
Participate and coordinate HAZOP, HAZID, SIL studies, and other safety workshops.
Coordinate vendor activities such as specifications, MTOs, and datasheets for safety, life-saving, and firefighting equipment.
Handle detailed design project phases with accountability for quality and compliance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree in
Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum
15 years of experience
in loss prevention engineering within Oil & Gas consultancy projects
Strong knowledge of international safety codes (
NFPA, API, IP, ISO, IEC
)
Expertise in fire protection systems, hazardous area classification, risk analysis, and escape route design
Proficient with tools such as
PHAST, FLARESIM, PIPENET
, and similar software for dispersion and fire analysis
Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
