Job Description

Due to anticipated growth throughout 2022, Wood is currently inviting expressions of interest for Lead Instrument & Control Engineer with experience in refining and offshore industry to be based in UAE

Please note that at this stage, applications for this role are invited as an Expression of Interest (EOI) only whilst exact opportunities are being fully determined

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

Responsibilities:

+ In conjunction with the Engineering Manager / Project manager, manages succession planning for direct reports

+ Instrument and controls system design responsibility

+ Definition of plant overall controls architecture

+ Ownership of I&C schedule and planning

+ Responsible for production and / or review of deliverables including models, drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, evaluations etc

+ Management and leadership of a medium size team

+ Working closely with the design team to achieve successful model review outcomes

+ Liaise with other disciplines, clients and vendor representatives

+ Experience of working with multi - national and multi - cultural project teams is strongly preferred

Proposals experience

+ Significant experience in preparation of proposals for Studies, FEED, Detail Engineering projects.

+ Experience in Upstream Oil & Gas, Gas Treating and Sulphur processing, Refining, Petrochemical, Utilities and Offsites, Flare And Relief Design, Waste Water Treatment

+ Review of ITT/RFQ documentation and interpret the scope of work for small, medium and large size projects

+ Take ownership and command of proposal, including written proposals, presentations etc.

+ Prepare / collate manhours for the proposal

+ Collaborating with centres of excellence and other affiliate offices as required to prepare a winning proposal

+ Liaise with subcontractors, vendors & OEMs to obtain the costs for their services

+ Liaise with technology providers / Licensors as required for the proposals

+ Provide customer responses (including expressions of interest, presentations, etc)

+ Ensure that the proposal is compliant and delivered on time.

+ Prepare/Review/analyze proposal sections for consistency and clarity, compliance with solicitation, requirements, and alignment with proposed solutions and themes and writes/re-writes proposal sections as necessary to deliver high-quality, winning proposals.

+ Respond to requests for clarification

+ Prepare and deliver presentations (pre-proposal or post-proposal) to Clients and other internal stakeholders

+ Take on responsibility of Proposal Lead or Proposal Coordinator as required due to workload of proposals team including (but not limited to) the following:

+ Develop and implement the proposal management plan (responsibility/compliance matrix)

+ Develop and implement the proposal schedule

+ Support and contribute to the continual improvement of proposal procedures and processes

+ Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline ( I&C OR EC)

+ At least 15 Years plus experience with instrumentation in the Oil & Gas environment

+ Experience FED, Detail design and EPC projects

+ Fully coherent in all international codes and standards

+ Excellent command of both spoken and written English is required

+ Assurance of tender and supply for all I&C equipment

+ Thorough knowledge of DCS, ESD, F&G and SCADA systems generally incorporated in major Brownfield oil / gas offshore projects

+ Participation with contribution during P&IDs, HAZOP, and SIL reviews workshop
