Provide expert consultancy and analytical studies to resolve complex operating and maintenance problems for rotating equipment.
Reliability Management:
Develop and update preventive/predictive maintenance strategies (PM/PdM) and lead reliability improvement studies to address "Bad Actors" and equipment obsolescence.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA):
Lead multi-discipline teams in incident investigations to identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Shutdowns & Turnarounds:
Provide technical assurance and oversight during major overhauls, shutdowns (T&I), and commissioning of new facilities.
Design & Projects:
Review project proposals and detailed design packages for new installations to ensure they meet international standards (e.g., API, ISO) and "Design for Reliability" concepts.
Mentorship:
Coach and develop younger mechanical engineers and technicians through formal training and site-work programs.
Essential Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of
5 to 15 years
of experience in the petrochemical or chemical industry, specifically with rotating machinery.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in vibration analysis, condition monitoring (e.g., Bently Nevada), and proficiency in using CMMS systems like
SAP
.
Standards Knowledge:
Fully conversant with industry codes such as
API
, NEMA, and ISO specifications.
