This opportunity is for a leading Energy & Gas giant in the UAE. We are seeking a Lead Data Scientist to champion the use of AI and analytics within the organization. You will provide technical leadership, mentor a team of data scientists, and define the strategic direction for high-impact analytics projects.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage data science projects from conception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business goals. Mentor and guide junior and intermediate data scientists, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation. Interface with senior stakeholders to identify high-value use cases and define the scope of analytics initiatives. Oversee the selection of appropriate methodologies and algorithms for complex projects. Review code and models developed by the team to ensure quality and robustness. Drive the adoption of best practices in data science, including reproducibility and documentation. Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies in AI/ML and assess their potential impact on the business.

Requirements

Experience:

5-15+ Years. Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning solutions in a corporate environment. Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage teams and projects effectively. Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of machine learning and statistics. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to executive leadership. Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum).

Bonus

Experience leading data science teams in the Oil & Gas industry. Track record of publishing technical papers or speaking at industry conferences. Strong business acumen and understanding of energy market dynamics.
