Who are we looking for?

We are looking for Lead Civil / Structural Engineer to be responsible for doing Civil / Structural design which includes steel and concrete structures design and foundation design. He / she shall review and verify engineering design on assigned projects to ensure safe, high quality, fit for purpose design. He / she shall provide a support for consultancy services and studies to Company Affiliates. As a lead, the engineer shall ensure civil / structural design is aligned with all disciplines, executing the work within budget and on schedule by leading, motivating and managing a team of engineers / designers and help in training and developing younger engineers.

Qualifications

University Degree in Civil Engineering; post-graduate degree in Structural Engineering is preferable. 10-13 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the design of steel, concrete structures / buildings and foundation design in petrochemical, fertilizer, refining, oil or gas industries. Typically, 8-10 years should be with a recognized international FEED/EPC contractor and last 2-3 years in a lead role.
  • Experience in the following
  • Complete project cycle from basic engineering and detailed engineering including construction of green/ brown field projects
  • Resolving design issues during contruction or operations
  • Leading Civil / structural discipline specifically related to Pre-FEED and FEED (up to 10000 man-hours) projects
  • Scheduling, man-hour control, progress monitoring, productivity and status reporting
  • Handling Projects with 3D model environment, involve in 3D model reviews
  • Project execution with workshare will be an asset.
  • Site / Construction experience will be preferred
  • Supporting procurement process
  • knowledge of latest technical developments in Civil / Structural field"
To be competent in the following technical skills:
  • International design codes i.e. ASCE / AISC / ACI / IBC / PIP / AASHTO / ASTM / API standards.
  • Piperacks, Process structures Design
  • Vertical, Horizontal Equipment foundation design
  • Tank foundations and Dykes design
  • Design of RCC, steel framed buildings
  • Shallow foundations, piled foundations
  • Geotechnical Investigation
  • Preparing Scope of work for Geotechnical investigation, Topographical survey and underground scanning survey
  • Structural analysis software like STAAD Pro, STAAD Foundation, SAP 2000 or any other industry recognized sofitware
  • Good knowledge about site development, grading, roads and paving design
  • Good knowledge about various drainage systems such as sanitory, storm or potentially contaminated system
  • Preparation of Design calculation reports
  • Preparation of Basis of Design, project specifications and standards
  • 3D based project execution & familiar with review softwares like Navisworks and SPR
  • Squad check and vendor drawings review
  • Preparation and checking of Material Take off
To be competent in the following functional skills:
  • Pre-FEED and FEED projects execution, change management
  • Involve in interdisciplinary coordination such as squad checks, vendor drawing reviews
  • Develop man-hour estimate, deliverable list, planning and monitoring progress & productivity
  • Staffing requirements and planning of resources through the project cycle
  • Procurement support, Technical Bid evaluations
  • Preparing Scope of work document, ITB, design basis, specifications
  • Reviewing
  • FEED & EPC discipline documents and deliverables for industrial projects
  • Detail Engineering discipline documents and deliverables for Building and Infrastructure projects.
  • Key documents such as Geotech report, Calculations, engineering models, 3D models

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead Civil & Structural design activities for PDP and FEED projects executed in-house.
  • Involve in interdisciplinary coordination such as squad checks, vendor drawing reviews
  • Develop man-hour estimate, deliverable list, planning and monitoring progress & productivity of the in-house projects.
  • Review the following:
  • FEED & EPC discipline documents and deliverables for industrial projects
  • Detail Engineering discipline documents and deliverables for Building and Infrastructure projects.
  • Key documents such as Geotech report, Calculations, engineering models, 3D models
  • Act as civil Lead on medium / large projects
  • Support Technical Assurance Audits of larger mega projects to ensure that Company standards, Saudi Regulations and project specifications and requirements are followed by the Contractor.
  • Responsible for the following:
  • Review, development and approval of the project design basis, calculations, 3rd party study reports and drawings in line with the civil / structural engineering requirements of the
E&PM Technical Authority Schedule.
  • Delivery, cost, schedule, planning and progress reporting
  • Estimating the required civil engineering man-hours for a project
\xe2\x80\xa2 Managing staff utilization and productivity \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure the timely completion of all studies, designs, specifications, drawings and other documentation for areas of responsibility assigned to him.
